Amit Virmani

Amit Virmani never considered making a documentary for his debut feature. That changed when he met a young boy in Bali who couldn’t wait to grow up and “sex-service” Japanese women, and he spent the next two years working on “Cowboys in Paradise”.

Amit is co-founder of Coup, a design and content lab based in Singapore. He has directed various shorts and commercials. He is currently developing “The Rapists Wore Blue Hats”, which, much to his own surprise, will be another feature documentary.

Amit spent his youth in several countries across Asia including Indonesia. He studied at a Jesuit boarding school in Darjeeling, India, where he received adequate moral fiber in his diet. Next, he attended university in Texas where he received, of all things, the Wall Street Journal Award for
Business.
