3rd Annual Vancouver Singapore Film Festival

Vancouver, BC (August  12, 2010) – Mark your calendars! Vancouver will once again “experience Singapore through film, culture & celebration” at the 3rd Annual Vancouver Singapore Film Festival (VSFF) this September 17 and 18 at the Vancouver International Film Centre (Vancity Theatre).

This year’s festival will showcase a remarkable selection of films that celebrate the
diverse cultures and many languages of Singapore’s multicultural society. The 2010 lineup promises to deliver a punch with genres ranging from animation, documentaries, drama to experimental. A large selection of shorts will also be screened to highlight emerging talents, including more Vancouver-based Singaporean filmmakers.

Opening Day will kick off with a dinner reception, including Singapore hawker dishes, followed by a selection of short films and feature film Cowboys in Paradise. This will be the North American premiere of Cowboys in Paradise, a film that has garnered international media attention around the world because of the controversy surrounding gigolos in Bali. The full line-up of films will be announced next week.

Organizers hope to bring a little piece of Singapore to Canada through this festival,
which also offers audiences the experience of Singapore’s unique culture, entertainment and food.
